Cedar Street

A new identity for the New York design and development partner that brings real estate, design, and construction under one roof.

One team, one path

Cedar Street came to Mast with a clear idea: the brand should feel more like the work they do. Their projects are considered, architectural, and built to last, but the identity hadn’t kept pace. It read as a single-discipline shop, while the business had grown into something broader, a partner that brings real estate, design, and construction under one roof so clients get from idea to opening with fewer handoffs and fewer surprises.

We set out to close that gap. The new identity borrows from the same principles Cedar Street applies to every space: clear structure, honest materials, and details that earn their place. The result is a system that feels as intentional as the interiors they deliver, and one built to scale with the company as it grows.

The symbol is built from a C and an S, locked together into one continuous form. A deliberate offset at its center, the shift, stands for the change Cedar Street brings to commercial interiors: sourcing, design, and construction moving as one instead of passing between vendors. It gives the brand a recognizable mark of its own, and a shape that holds up from a ball cap to a construction hoarding.

The previous wordmark had personality. It leaned funky and fun, which suited a young studio but no longer matched the seriousness of the spaces Cedar Street now delivers. The new lockup pairs the symbol with a quieter, more considered wordmark that keeps a bit of that original character while carrying the confidence of a partner trusted with complex builds.

The identity carries into Cedar Street’s own studio, where door graphics and room signage use the same restrained type and line work as the rest of the system.

The new site puts Cedar Street’s integrated model front and center. Clear paths guide each audience, whether they’re hiring, partnering, or joining the team, while the line icon system breaks down the sectors they serve and how they work. Project imagery does the heavy lifting, letting the spaces speak for themselves. The result is a site that’s as easy to navigate as the process it describes.

A custom line icon system gives Cedar Street a visual language for everything they do. Drawn with the precision of a floor plan, the icons can describe a sector, a service, or a step in the process, and the system is built to grow as the business does. New offerings, new markets, and new ways of working can all be drawn into the same family, keeping the brand consistent across the website, presentations, and the spaces themselves.
